For users who acquired the game via the Game Pass for PC (beta) app or Microsoft Store may encounter an issue where they cannot launch the game from the apps. There however has been an update to the Xbox (beta) app to allow users to launch the title from the app.

To get the update:

1. Open the Microsoft Store app
2. Select the top right menu which appears as “…” to the right of your profile picture
3. Select “Downloads and Updates”
4. Select “Get Updates”

To view and verify your store app version:

1. Open the Microsoft Store app
2. Select the top right menu which appears as “…” to the right of your profile picture
3. Select “Settings”
4. Scroll down to “About this App”

For users who do not see the update just quite yet, there is a work-around:

1. Press the Windows key to bring up the search menu
2. Search your PC for "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" 
3. Select the game 
4. Launch the application

If you'd like to create a shortcut using the application:

1. Locate the game on your PC using steps 1-3 above
2. Right click the game tile
3. Pin the tile to your start menu or taskbar as desired
