The Halo Public API provides third party developers access to stats, profile, and UGC data for both Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Wars 2.

On February 29, 2024, the Halo Public API Portal migrated to a new backend service. No impact is expected on any currently active API tokens, but developers may want to migrate their account to the new service. To do so, follow the steps below:

1. In your preferred web browser, navigate to the Halo Public API Portal.
2. Select the “Sign In” button on the right side of the window.
3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used prior to this portal migration.
4. After signing-in, review and accept the account permissions request.
5. If the request is accepted and a previous account is identified, the previous account’s token(s) will be listed on the new account.

Currently active API tokens will continue to work normally until their previously issued expiration date regardless of whether their original account is migrated. Developers who miss the migration window or who create a new account will still be able to create API tokens.
