Bugs are an unintended behavior or malfunction in a program or video game. There are various types of bugs that range in severity. For instance, your character might unexpectedly pass through walls due to graphics glitches, or the game could freeze during certain actions, impacting your overall gameplay experience.
If you encounter a bug in Halo Infinite or any other Halo game, submit a ticket to the Halo Support team. Doing so ensures that the issue is logged in our internal bug database for investigation. The more tickets filed for a specific issue, the higher its priority becomes.
Follow these steps to submit a ticket:
- Log into your account using the sign in link in the top right corner of the Halo Support site, or click here to sign in.
- At the top of the home page, to the right of “Select A Topic”, select the game or area you wish to submit a support ticket for.
- Scroll down and look for a white button that says, “Submit A Bug Report.” As seen in the image below.
- Click the Submit a Bug Report button for the area you are reporting on.
- Fill out the form. Include as much information as possible, such as gameplay clips and screenshots, to help us understand your issue.
- If you have multiple unrelated issues, submit them as separate tickets.
- Do not submit multiple tickets for the same issue.
- Halo Support cannot assist with network, hardware or Microsoft Store purchase issues. You’ll need to go to Xbox Support for that.
- Try to include details of what you were doing prior to the incident occurring in-game. Some examples include:
- Were you playing a specific story mission?
- What area of the game were you in?
- What type of enemies were you fighting?
- Were you in a multiplayer match?
- What mode were you playing?
- What map were you playing on?
Here’s an example of written steps to reproduce a bug (also known as “Repro Steps”) for: “Thruster Pack sound effects not playing”.
- Launch Halo Infinite
- Go to the Multiplayer menu
- Choose any playlist and enter a match
- While in a match, acquire a Thruster Pack and use it
- Observe that this equipment does not play its SFX when used
