To finalize some upgrades to our cloud storage systems, we deprecated our old cloud storage systems in November 2020. As a part of this process we set up a migration plan so that you can quickly and easily migrate any User Generated Content (UGC) created in Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) on Xbox One if you have only played on PC since December 2019.
When we added PC support for MCC in December 2019 we also updated to a new File Share cloud storage that wasn’t specific to the Xbox. (Which is why we also migrated your Xbox 360 UGC behind the scenes last year!) Previously, your Private and Public File Share items in MCC were stored in this cloud storage.
To migrate your data to the new cloud storage, all you need to do is log in to the Xbox One version of MCC and all of your data will be migrated automatically the first time. When this happens, your Private files will be stored locally on the Xbox One and your Public files will be moved to our new cloud storage.
In short, we updated some systems on the back end to upgrade cloud storage so it would work for PC as well. To finish this update, we’re shutting down our old systems. All you need to do is log in to your Xbox One once, and your files will be migrated safely.
