This article covers how to play Halo: Campaign Evolved offline.
On Steam and PlayStation®, you must use an internet connection to perform the initial account linking process. After the initial link is complete, the steps below will allow you to play without an internet connection.
Some platforms require additional platform-specific settings to be configured before offline play is available. Select your platform below for setup instructions for playing Halo: Campaign Evolved offline.
Offline play on XBOX is available for up to 2 players, including single-player and local split-screen co-op on a single console. Each player must sign in with a unique Microsoft account and Gamertag.
Please note that you must be connected to the internet the first time you set up your XBOX. After setup is complete and your profile has been added, you can play offline.

Offline play on PlayStation®5 is available for up to 2 players, including single-player and local split-screen co-op on a single console.
For co-op, each player must have a PlayStation™Network account linked to a Microsoft account with an XBOX gamertag. If a player attempts to sign in with a Microsoft account that does not yet have an XBOX gamertag, they will receive an error message.
One-Time Online Setup
An internet connection is required the first time you launch the game to link your PlayStation™Network account to your Microsoft account. After your account has been linked, you can play the game offline.

How to Enable Offline Play
Before playing offline, you must enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on the PlayStation®5 console.
- Sign in to the PlayStation™Network account that owns the game.
- Open the PlayStation®5 console Settings.
- Select Users and Accounts.
- Select Other.
- Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.

Microsoft Store/XBOX App PC
Offline play on the Microsoft Store or XBOX App for PC is available for single-player gameplay.
Please note that an internet connection is required the first time you launch Halo: Campaign Evolved. Before you start the game, sign into the Microsoft Store and XBOX app with the account that purchased the title, then launch the game at least once while connected to the internet.
How to Enable Offline Play
Before playing offline, you must enable Offline permissions in the Microsoft Store app.
- Open the Microsoft Store app.
- Select your profile icon at the top.
- Select Store Settings.
- Toggle on Offline permissions.

Offline play on Steam is available for single-player campaigns. A Steam account linked to a Microsoft account with an XBOX gamertag is required.
