NEW WEAPON & PLAYLIST: MUTILATOR
The Mutilator is a new power weapon available for players to use in Halo Infinite matchmaking, Custom Games, Forge, and Academy. The Mutilator is a double-barreled shotgun with an integrated Gravity Hammer for melee attacks. This Banished-made weapon features an alternate-fire mechanic that allows players to fire both barrels at once.

To celebrate the introduction of this new weapon, a new rotational playlist has been added to Halo Infinite matchmaking: Mutilator Madness. In Mutilator Madness, 8 players battle to become the Juggernaut and wield the Mutilator. The longer a player is the Juggernaut, the more score they gain. Players can become the Juggernaut by eliminating the current Juggernaut.
The Mutilator Madness playlist features the following multiplayer maps:
- Ascension
- Boulevard
- Chasm
- Cliffside
- Conjurer
- Detachment
- Dredge

In the new Battle of the Academy rotational playlist, four players must defend against then escape from Banished forces. The two linear Firefight experiences included in this playlist, Cole Protocol and Out With A Bang, tell the story of the UNSC forces that defended the Avery J. Johnson Academy for Military Science after Iratus's infiltration of the secret ONI lab.

Balance Changes
Aside from the introduction of the Mutilator to the Halo Infinite Multiplayer sandbox, this update contains two additional balance changes. All balance changes included in this update only apply to Halo Infinite Multiplayer, not the Halo Infinite Campaign.
For more information about this update's sandbox balance changes, watch the Spring Update Community Livestream embedded below or visit the "Summer Update 2025" article on Halo Waypoint.
S7 Sniper and Flexfire Sniper
Shots fired from the S7 Sniper or the Flexfire Sniper now have a chance to ricochet off hard surfaces. If a ricocheted shot eliminates an enemy player, the player who fired the shot will receive the Bank Shot medal.
Developer Notes
We’d seen many players ask for this one, especially within the montage community, and we’re happy to deliver it. After this update rolls out, the S7 Sniper & Flexfire Sniper will now have their bullets ricochet off hard surfaces. As long as these shots are fired and land at a shallow enough angle, they will ricochet. And, they can ricochet multiple times off walls, floors, and ceilings. We also made an adjustment the smoke trail to accommodate this new functionality, so players will now clearly see the flight path of the bullets when they are fired and bounce off hard surfaces.
In addition to the pure functionality of this update, players will also be awarded the “Bank Shot“ medal if they successfully land this type of skillful shot.
Screenshot of a S7 Sniper shot ricocheting off a wall and the ground then eliminating an enemy.
Banshee
The Banshee is now less durable against collisions, and the reload speed as well as the projectile speed of its fuel rod cannon has been reduced.
Developer Notes
After giving the Banshee a much-needed efficiency buff, which knowingly pushed a few values to be overly generous, we’ve made a handful of changes to bring the vehicle closer to normal expectations.
- Banshee Bomb cooldown has been increased from 2 >> 3.5
- Banshee Bomb Projectile velocity decreased
- Initial velocity: 20 >>> 17
- Final velocity: 17 >>> 15
- Collision damage has been increased from 0 >>> 0.0015
Resolved Issues and Bug Fixes
Many improvements come from Halo Insider and Halo Support tickets submitted by our community. Thank you for participating and please keep submitting tickets!
Halo Support tickets help the team here at Halo Studios understand what issues you would like to see addressed in future Halo Infinite updates. The development team is actively working on a variety of game updates and improvements based on both player feedback and bug report tickets.
If you experience a crash in Halo Infinite, please include as much of the following information as possible:
- Step-by-step instructions on what caused the crash. The more specific, the better!
- Attach an up-to-date DxDiagfile. To create a DxDiagfile, type "dxdiag" into the Start menu's search bar, press the Enter key, then click "Save All Information" when the DirectX Diagnostic Tool pops up.
- Include the Problem Report from the Control Panel app. To find this, open the Control Panel and enter "problem reports" in the search bar. Click "View all problem reports" then locate the recent Halo Infinite report. Double click on this Halo Infinite entry then use the "Copy to clipboard" button near the bottom of the window. Finally, paste this text into your ticket's comments.
