While playing Halo Infinite Campaign, players can find collectible items that unlock:
- Equipment upgrades.
- Cosmetic items that can be used exclusively in Multiplayer.
- Audio logs that provide information about different events that have occurred on Zeta Halo.
- Additional details about these stories can be found in Halo Waypoint’s Canon Fodder: Legendary Endings.
- Skulls, which give players the ability to modify Campaign gameplay such as bigger explosions, turning off the Heads-Up Display (HUD), or more unusual dialogue when in combat.
How to Find Collectibles
Collectibles can be found on the surface of Zeta Halo or during story missions. Nearly all collectibles can be picked up or interacted with by pressing Interact/Reload, the default bindings for which are the X button on controller and the E key on keyboard. The only exception is Propaganda Towers, which players are meant to destroy using their equipped weapons. Players will earn Valor when Propaganda Towers are destroyed.
When looking for collectibles, there are often clues hidden in the landscape. For example, UNSC Audio Logs and Mjolnir Armor Lockers are typically found near abandoned UNSC campsites, while Banished Audio Logs are often found near Banished Outposts. All collectibles make sounds when you approach them.
TacMap
After capturing a Forward Operating Base (FOB), several types of Collectibles will appear on the TacMap. You may need to zoom in on the map to see them. After highlighting a collectible on the TacMap, you can set it as a waypoint. If the collectible icon is transparent on the TacMap, it means that you have already collected it. You can see how many collectibles you have acquired in each area by looking at the Area Collectibles window at the bottom left corner of the TacMap while different areas of the overworld are highlighted.
You can view the number of collectibles available in each area of Zeta Halo from the Area Collectibles window at the bottom left corner of the TacMap.
AI Scan
Sometimes collectibles are concealed inside caves and other unusual locations. If you arrive at the waypoint, only to not see the collectible, you can use AI Scan to gain a better view of the area. Collectibles are temporarily highlighted when you activate AI Scan, making it easier to locate them. By default, AI Scan is activated by pressing down on the D-pad on controller or by pressing Z on keyboard.
Types of Collectibles in Campaign
MJOLNIR Armor Locker
MJOLNIR Armor Lockers unlock cosmetic items that can be equipped in the Customize menu. This includes armor coatings, weapon coatings, vehicle coatings, and other customization items. These changes to appearance only apply to your Spartan in Multiplayer and Acadamy. Cosmetic changes do not apply in Campaign.
MJOLNIR Armor Lockers will have green glowing lights and make pinging sounds when you are close to them. Once collected, the MJOLNIR Armor lockers will no longer have a light or make a pinging sound. Their precise locations will appear on the TacMap after capturing a FOB in a specific area of the map.
Audio Logs
Audio Logs unlock after locating either Datapads or Forerunner Artifacts. Hold Interact/Reload to listen to the audio log immediately or tap Interact/Reload to collect the log without playing it. Audio logs can be listened to at any time in the Database menu, accessed via the TacMap. Normal gameplay continues while the logs play, which means you can shoot, drive, and explore as you listen.
If you missed an Audio Log when playing a story mission, you can use Mission Replay to redo the mission, and find the missing audio log.
Banished Audio Logs
Until they are collected, Banished Datapads will have orange glowing lights and make pinging sounds when you are close to them. Their precise locations do not appear on the TacMap, but you can see how many there are in each area using the Area Collectibles window after capturing a FOB.
UNSC Audio Logs
Until they are collected, UNSC Datapads will have green glowing lights and make pinging sounds when you are close to them. Their precise locations do not appear on the TacMap, but you can see how many there are in each area using the Area Collectibles window after capturing a FOB.
Forerunner Artifacts
Forerunner Artifacts are stone circles that can be found all throughout the landscape of Zeta Halo. Interacting with them (by holding Interact/Reload) will analyze the artifact. Once the Forerunner Artifact has been analyzed, you will unlock an audio recording called a Forerunner Archive. These can be listened to again at any time in the Database menu, accessed via the TacMap. Forerunner Archives do not carry over to new games.
Forerunner Archives are unlocked after analyzing a Forerunner Artifact.
Forerunner Artifacts make a low hum when you are close to them and can appear on the TacMap after capturing a FOB.
Spartan Cores
Spartan Cores are used to upgrade Equipment. Once you have collected some, go to the Upgrades tab in the TacMap to enhance your Equipment’s abilities.
Unopened Spartan Cores will emit a beeping sound when players get close to them.
Spartan Cores can be found inside waist-high metal crates. Their most noticeable characteristic is the large, green, holographic UNSC logo above the crate, which will disappear when the Spartan Core is collected. Spartan Cores will appear on the TacMap after capturing a FOB.
Skulls
Skulls modify gameplay in Campaign. These modifications include additional challenges, cosmetic alterations, and advantages during gameplay.
Skulls are often hidden in obscure locations and reward players who thoroughly explore the map. When approaching a Skull, you will notice that they emit blue flames and create a distinct sound when you are near them. Skulls only appear on the TacMap when you get extremely close to their location. Capturing FOBs will not reveal the location of any Skulls, but you will know how many Skulls are in each area by looking at the Area Collectibles window in the TacMap after capturing a FOB.
To enable a Skull:
- Go to Campaign and select New Game or Load Game.
- If you select Load Game, then select which game you would like to play
- Select which Active Skulls you would like to apply to the game.
- Press Play and the selected Skulls will be automatically enabled.
Propaganda Towers
Banished Propaganda Towers can be found on the surface of Zeta Halo, broadcasting taunting messages from a Grunt named Glibnub. The dialogue for each broadcast changes as you progress through the game. You gain 10 Valor upon destroying a Propaganda Tower.
Shoot the glowing core on the Propaganda Tower to destroy it.
Capturing a FOB will not reveal the location of nearby Propaganda Towers, but their locations will appear on the TacMap if you get close to them. You can also see how many Propaganda Towers are in each area by looking at the Area Collectibles window in the TacMap after capturing a FOB.
