As part of Xbox’s accessibility initiative, Halo Infinite comes with numerous accessibility features in the Settings menu.
To access Settings:
- View the Control Panel or Pause Menu. By default, the Pause Menu or Control Panel can be opened by:
- On keyboard: pressing F1 anywhere in game or ESC from the Main Menu.
- On controller: pressing the Menu button.

- Select Settings.
- Select the Accessibility tab.
- On controller, cycle through tabs using LB and RB (left and right bumpers).
- On keyboard, press E or Q to cycle through tabs or select the relevant tab using the mouse cursor.
- To reset all settings in a tab to their original settings, select Restore Defaults (F on keyboard or X on controller).

Language Options
Visual Language and Audio Language
Players can choose between many different languages, with separate options for the Visual Language (text) and Audio Language (spoken word). See the How to Change Language Settings in Halo Infinite article for instructions on downloading audio language packs.
12 languages are fully supported in Halo Infinite for both Visual and Audio language settings:
- Chinese Simplified
- Chinese Traditional
- English – US

- Spanish – Spain
An additional 6 languages are fully supported for Visual language settings only:

Menu Navigation
Several options help players navigate menus more easily:
Linear Navigation Mode
Sets whether linear navigation is enabled. Enabling Linear Navigation Mode adds a visual highlight that allows a player to move between all available menu options on the screen with a limited subset of controls.
User Interface (UI) Narration
Sets whether UI elements should be narrated. Narration is only supported when using English as the visual language. Settings are: on, off, and profile. When set to Profile, your Let Games Read To Me setting will determine whether UI elements should be narrated.
UI Narration Rate
Sets the speed of the narration. Settings are (in order of speed): Slowest, Slower, Slightly Slower, Default, Slightly Faster, Faster, Very Fast, Fastest.
UI Narration Volume
Adjust the volume of UI Narration. This can be adjusted down from the default setting of 10.
Text Size
Set the size of user interface text. Settings are: Default, Large, and Extra Large.
Text Scroll Speed
Adjust the speed at which interface text scrolls can be increased or decreased. This setting ranges from 15 to 180 and is set to 45 as the default.
Notification Duration
Adjust the number of seconds to display notifications in the game menus before fading out. This setting ranges from 2 to 20 and is set to 5 as the default.
Cursor Blink Rate
Sets the rate at which the cursor in the game’s text input prompts blinks. Normal is the default. Setting this to Non will disable cursor blinking. This setting is only on Xbox game consoles.
Subtitles
Text overlays that display spoken dialogue or other relevant information on the screen. Subtitles are displayed by default.
Visibility
Sets how subtitles are displayed. Settings are: Automatic, On, and Off. When set to Automatic, subtitles appear if the voice and text languages differ. Set to On by default.
Display
Sets the type of subtitles displayed. When set to Story Only, subtitles are only displayed for the dialogue of major characters. Set to All by default.
Size
Adjusts the size of subtitles. Subtitles can be either increased or decreased in size. This setting ranges from 24 to 144. Set to 36 as the default.
Background Opacity
Adjust the opacity of the subtitles background. The background of subtitles is designed to provide contrast, making them easier to read. This setting can be adjusted to any level of transparency, ranging from nonexistent (0.0) to solid black (1.0) and is set to 0.7 as the default.
Highlight
Sets how the subtitles/speakers appear. When set to Speaker, the speaker’s name is displayed in a distinct color. The color can be applied to only the speaker’s name (Setting: Speaker), the entire line of text can be set to the speaker's color (Setting: Line), or this color coding can be completely removed (Setting: None).
Visuals
Settings pertaining to visual and colorblindness accommodations.
Enemy UI, Friendly UI, and Fireteam UI Color
Select colors associated with friendly and enemy interface elements, as well as your fireteam’s callout marker.
Outline Opacity
Adjust the transparency of the outlines around other players down from the default 1.0 all the way down to nonexistent (0.0).
Outline Thickness
Adjust the thickness of the participant outlines down from the default 1.0 all the way down to nonexistent (0.0).
Reticle Outline Opacity
Adjust the transparency of the aiming reticle’s outline up or down from the default 0.6. Setting ranges from nonexistent (0.0) to solid (1.0).
Reticle Outline Thickness
Adjust the thickness of the reticle’s outline up or down from the default 1.0. Setting ranges from nonexistent (0.0) to solid (2.0).
HUD (Heads-up display) Opacity
Adjust the transparency of the HUD up or down from the default 0.5. Setting ranges from nonexistent (0.0) up to 100% (1.0).
HUD Marker Opacity
Adjust the transparency of player, equipment, objective, and navigation markers on the HUD down from the default 1.0 Setting ranges from nonexistent (0.0) to solid (1.0).
Event Feed Background Mode
Sets which events in the event feed have a background behind the text. Settings are: None, Yours, and All. Set to Yours by default.
Event Feed Background Opacity
Adjust the transparency of event feed background up or down from the default 0.5. Setting ranges from nonexistent (0.0) up to 100% (1.0).
Disable Visual Distractions
Sets whether background animations should not play within the frontend menus.
Communication
Text To Speech
Set whether your outgoing text chat messages should be dictated to other players as a synthesized voice.
Speech To Text
Set whether other player’s incoming voice chat should be transcribed and displayed as incoming messages in text chat.
Sensory
Blur
Adjust the amount of radial blur applied. This distortion appears during explosions, sprinting, equipment use, and cinematic sequences. Can be adjusted down from the default of 100%.
Screen Shake
Adjust the intensity of the camera movement during high impact events. This shaking appears during explosions, equipment use, and cinematic sequences. Can be adjusted down from a default of 100%.
Exposure
Adjust the intensity of full-screen exposure effects, such as bright flashes during explosions, using equipment, or during game cinematics, can be adjusted down from a default of 100%.
Full Screen Effects
Adjust the intensity of other full-screen effects, such as the shield recharging animation or when using equipment. Can be adjusted down from a default of 100%.
Speed Lines
Set whether white lines appear while sprinting.
Sharpening
Adjust the crispness of edges and texture details. Can be adjusted up or down from a default of 60%. A lower setting results in a more blended image while higher sharpness procures a more pronounced image. Setting ranges from 0% to 100%
Match History Privacy
Matchmade Games
Set the privacy for sharing your matchmaking session history to other players. Share is the default setting.
Non-Matchmade Games
Set the privacy for sharing your non-matchmaking session history to other players. Hide is the default setting.
