There are three main types of consumable items in Halo Infinite: XP Boosts, Challenge Swaps, and XP Grants. Each is activated and used (consumed) to provide a unique benefit. XP Boosts and Challenge Swaps can be acquired through Battle Pass progress or purchased in the Shop. 

XP Boosts 

XP Boosts can be consumed to grant double XP toward Battle Pass progress for the next 60 minutes. 

To consume an XP Boost: 

1. From the main menu, open the Battle Pass menu by pressing R on a keyboard or Y on an Xbox Controller. 
2. Within the Battle Pass menu, open the Boosts menu by pressing R on a keyboard or Y on an Xbox Controller.  
3. Select “Double XP Boost” from the options and confirm your choice. 

Challenge Swap 

Challenge Swaps can be consumed to switch out a currently active Weekly Challenge for a random new one. All progress on a current Challenge is lost if a Challenge Swap is used to get a new challenge.  

To consume a Challenge Swap: 

1. From the main menu, open the Battle Pass menu by pressing R on a keyboard or Y on an Xbox Controller. 
2. Switch to the Challenges tab by pressing E on a keyboard or Right Bumper on an Xbox Controller. 
3. Select the Challenge Swap icon to the left of the Challenge you want to switch out. The icon looks like two rotating arrows: 

   

4. Confirm your choice by selecting "Swap."

XP Grant 

XP Grants can be consumed to grant a flat XP reward toward Battle Pass progress.

To consume an XP Grant: 

1. From the main menu, open the Battle Pass menu by pressing R on a keyboard or Y on an Xbox Controller. 
2. Within the Battle Pass menu, open the Boosts menu by pressing R on a keyboard or Y on an Xbox Controller.  
3. Select “XP Grant” from the options and confirm your choice.
